Using the Digital Sign In/Out App

A quick guide on how to use the Digital Sign In/Out Device

The Digital Sign In/Out (DSI) device lets students record a late arrival, an early departure or a return to school.

Stuck or no success message? Follow Digital Sign In/Out Stuck or Not Submitting. A submission is complete only when the success message appears.

Signing in or out sends the parent or guardian an alert with the student's arrival or departure time. Students should follow the school's DSI procedure so attendance records remain accurate.

1. Prepare the device

  1. Open the Digital Sign In app on the device.
  2. If prompted, sign in with the credentials supplied to your school.
  3. Once signed in, the device is ready for students to use.

2. Sign in late

  1. The student taps Late.
  2. They select their year, class and name.
  3. They check their details and tap Submit.
  • If a late note has already been submitted: the parent or guardian receives an arrival confirmation.
  • If there is no late note: the parent or guardian is notified of the late arrival and asked to submit a note.

3. Sign out early

  1. The student taps Leaving.
  2. They select their year, class and name.
  3. They check their details and tap Submit.

Permission to Leave is required. A parent or guardian must have submitted a PTL note and the request must be approved by staff. If no PTL note is available, the device directs the student to the office.

The school's sign-out time window also applies. See DSI Sign Out – Time Interval.

4. Return to school

If the student returns on the same day after signing out:

  1. Tap Returning.
  2. Select their year, class and name.
  3. Check the details and tap Submit.
