Temporarily pause daily absence notifications for the whole school, selected year groups or selected classes over a chosen date range.
This can be useful during exams or a non-standard school day when the normal attendance process is not running.
Use with care. Parents in the selected groups will not receive the usual absence notifications for those dates. This does not mark students present or replace recording School Activity where appropriate.
In this guide
1. Open the settings
- Sign in at uniqueschoolapp.ie and open the Dashboard.
- Under Attendance Overview, select Settings. This is different from the separate Settings section on the main dashboard.
- Under Disable Absence Notifications, click View settings.
The list shows configured dates and the groups affected. Weekends are automatically excluded.
2. Add a date range
- Click + Add.
- Choose Disable for entire school, select whole year groups, or select specific classes. Selecting a year disables notifications for the whole year group.
- Choose the From date and To date.
- Check the dates and scope carefully, then click Submit.
3. Resume notifications
Notifications resume automatically after the selected range ends. To remove an exclusion early, use Delete for the relevant entry.
Timing matters: removing today’s exclusion after the scheduled notification time has passed does not send that day’s missed notifications automatically.
