Delivery & Read Status on a Personal Notification

Track Exactly Who Received and Read Your Message

Personal Notifications allow you to see:

  • Who has read the message
  • Who has not read the message
  • Whether the Push Notification was successfully delivered
  • Whether the user is registered on the app

This insight is extremely valuable when trying to ensure parents are receiving important communications.

If parent is registered and a message is not delivered and remains unread, it usually means:

  • Notifications are turned off
  • They changed phones and did not reinstall the app

The unread email reminder option when creating a Personal Notification is great for these situations so it is recommended to use every so often. 

You can also see whether a parent has registered on the app, giving you further context before following up.


How to View Delivery & Read Status

1. Access Personal Notifications

  • Go to uniqueschoolapp.ie and login
  • Click Personal Notifications
  • Select Manage Personal Notifications

By default, you will see the Personal Notifications you have previously sent.


2. Check Read / Unread Status

In the main list, you will see:

  • A Read column
  • An Unread column

Click on either number to open a detailed report of recipients.


Understanding the Detailed Report

The report provides the following information:

Student Name & Read Status

  • Usually marked as Unread
  • Only applies if “Include Student in PN” was enabled when sending

Primary Contact 

  • Displays the Primary Contact name (or staff member if sent to staff)
  • Shows whether they have read the message

Secondary Contact

  • Displays the Secondary Contact name
  • Shows their read status

Push Notification Delivery Status

Beside each contact you will see one of the following:

⚠️ Warning Symbol

  • Push Notification was not delivered
  • Hover over the icon for more details

✅ Check Symbol

  • Push Notification was successfully delivered
  • Click the report icon to view the exact delivery time and devices

App Registration Status

You will also see an indicator beside each name:

🟩 Green Box

  • User is registered on the app

🟥 Red Box

  • User is not registered on the app

Why This Is Important

This feature helps you:

  • Identify parents who may not have the app installed
  • Confirm whether a message was successfully delivered
  • Avoid unnecessary follow-up emails
  • Maintain clear, trackable communication
  • It ensures you are not guessing whether communication has reached home.
