Before using this feature, please ensure:
The Detention Manager has been fully set up (Time Slots & Reasons created)
You have the correct Access & Permissions in place
If you have not completed setup yet, please follow this guide first.
Step-by-Step: Add Students to a Detention for Other Reasons
1. Log In
- Go to uniqueschoolapp.ie and log in.
2. Go to Detention Manager
- Open Detention Manager and locate the session you wish to add a student to.
3. Click Add Student
- Click the Add Student icon beside the relevant detention session.
4. Search & Select Students
- Search for the student name(s)
- Select the relevant student(s)
5. Add to Final List
- Click Add to Final List to move the selected students into the session.
6. Select the Reason
- Choose the appropriate Detention Reason from the dropdown list.
Important:
Reasons must be set up during the initial Access & Setup process.
You can also:
- Add a Description for Parents (visible in the Personal Notification)
- Add an Internal Comment for Staff (not visible to parents)
This ensures clarity for both parents and internal staff.
7. Click Add to Detention
- Once submitted, the student is officially added to the detention session.

What Happens Next?
If your Automatic Personal Notification setting is enabled (see Access & Setup guide), parents/guardians will automatically receive a notification via the app informing them that their student has been added to Detention for lateness.
